Bill Bibbins, Pastor

Born in and a native of Santa Cruz, California, Pastor Bill entered the ministry in 1974.  After serving two tours in Vietnam from 1966-1968, Pastor Bill began is ministry in 1974 serving as an Associate Pastor for First Southern Baptist Church of Watsonville.  In 1976 Bill took the position of Senior Pastor at Boulder Creek Baptist Church in Boulder Creek, CA where he was Ordained into the Ministry.  After two years his job took him to South Lake Tahoe where he pastored at the Tahoe Paradise Baptist Church in Meyers, CA.  After living in South Lake Tahoe for 10 years, Bill moved to the Sacramento Area.  In the year 2000, Bill took the position of Senior Pastor at the then, New Hope Baptist Church in Citrus Heights, CA.  The name was later changed to Oakside Church of Citrus Heights.  Bill still presides as Senior Pastor and Pastoral Counselor.

In 1998 Bill also took on the role of a Law Enforcement Chaplain.  Today he is serving as a Law Enforcement Chaplain for the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy since 2000 (www.placerchaplains.com ) and Chaplain for Rocklin Police Department.  He is qualified as a Master Level Chaplain with the International Conference of Police Chaplains.

Bill is the father of three adult children, two girls and a boy, and three grandchildren, two boys and a girl.  He lives in Orangevale, CA with his wife Cheryl of 48 years.

Because of the personal needs within the congregations, Bill focused on Spiritual Counseling and found this area of ministry to be very rewarding and beneficial.  He perused that course and became a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association.  Several years ago he began focusing on the Spiritual Counseling aspect of the ministry and began Oakside Christian Counseling Center.  This center also works with Pastoral Christian Counseling Center, HTTP://www.pastoral-counseling-center.org/. Bill is also an accredited training Supervisor, with the NCCA, to help train other Christians that have the desire to become a Christian Counselor. Pastor Bill has his Bachelor of Ministry, Masters of Pastoral Counseling, and a Licensed Pastoral Clinical Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association HTTP://ncca.org/ .
